The United States registered a commanding 106-run victory over Nepal in the opening match of the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup League 2 tri-series, held at the Dubai International Stadium on Sunday, October 26, 2025. With this emphatic win, the USA climbed to the top of the League 2 standings, solidifying their position as one of the top contenders in the race toward the 2027 ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup qualification.
Nepal Fall Short Chasing 263-Run Target
Chasing a challenging total of 263 runs set by the USA, Nepal struggled to build momentum and were eventually bowled out for just 156 runs in 39.1 overs. Wicketkeeper-batter Aasif Sheikh was the top scorer for Nepal with 37 runs, while Dipendra Singh Airee contributed 40 runs in a lone fightback. Bhim Sarki (29) and Aarif Sheikh (20) offered brief resistance, but none of the other batters managed to reach double digits.
The USA bowling unit, led by Harmeet Singh, delivered a phenomenal performance. Harmeet dismantled the Nepal batting lineup, claiming 6 wickets and conceding very few runs.
